Ngāti Kahungunu Iwi Incorporated makes a big deal out of Waitangi Day because it's one of the largest national day events in the country. 

Waitangi Day commemorates a significant day in the history of New Zealand. This year it will be held on the 5th February 2022. 

This event attracts thousands to a showcase of home grown entertainment, food stalls, arts and crafts, social sports and kapa haka at the spectacular 30 hectare Mitre 10 Park in Hawke's Bay.

​This year sporting codes will include 3 on 3 Basketball, Ki O Rahi, Touch, Netball and Rugby League 9s
